Antares horse breeding forms a part of the Marcos Group whose president and founder is Francisco Marcos Ferrer. This corporate group has diverse activity within the sectors of construction, automobile industry, agriculture and livestock. With its headquarters in Orihuela it has extended its influence into the provinces of Alicante, Murcia and Cuenca.

In its construction activity the Marcos Group stands out for its development of partial plans in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia and the construction of shopping centres.

The Marcos Automobile Group is composed of more than 30 car dealerships of Citroen, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Opel and Peugeot brands within the provinces of Alicante, Murcia and Cuenca including official post-sales service centres (garage, parts, bodywork and paintwork). Additionally it is complimented with sales of used cars and with an insurance department which offers cover both to the automobile sector as well as to all other insurable goods. The insurance branch together with financial services satisfy the needs of the whole automobile market.

ANTARES

The branch of the Marcos Group dedicated to agriculture has 3 estates, Lo Valenciano, La Coronelita and Lo Mengol. 250 Hectares within the province of Alicante dedicated to the production of citrus fruits.

In June 2004, Francisco Marcos Ferrer, established a new activity within the Marcos Group, the stables dedicated to breeding horses of Pure Spanish Breeds. Culminating the inheritance received from his father and the love which has bound him to these beautiful animals throughout his life, he located this altruistic project at the Lo Valenciano estate in the municipality of Orihuela.

This estate, surrounded by mountains and lemon groves has an area of 500.000m2 dedicated to agricultural activities and the stables in equal parts.

In its stables section there are two clearly defined parts, that which is devoted to male specimens and sport and the more extensive section devoted to females and breeding. The first section stands out due to its large stables, 2 basic training rings, 1 walkout and 1 training track the dimensions of which exceed regulation size making it very practical. 6 paddocks complete this section where the foals live in semi-freedom favouring their growth.

In its section for females and breeding, Antares is equipped with 6 rest boxes and a further 9 of larger dimensions which are reserved for pregnant mares and veterinary clinics, the facilities are completed with 4 paddocks the size of which enable personalized care for the horses and 7 spaces for grazing each with dimensions of 50.000m2 which enable our animals to live and move freely together.

Our organigram places Francisco Marcos Ferrer at the head of the team, supported by the collaboration of three individuals with different responsibilities, one responsible for nutrition, breeding and animal welfare, one for training and one for administration and marketing who in turn delegate to necessary collaborators to ensure all the daily tasks are carried out.
